Job Description
Solstice Consulting Group is seeking a Vice President (VP) of Human Resources for our energy-related client in Houston, TX.


  • Excellent business acumen and oil & gas midstream/downstream operations knowledge required
  • Role is 4 days per week in West Houston office (1 day per week remote) and 20% travel
  • Bachelors Degree and 10+ years HR leadership experience in the oil & gas industry required
  • Base Salary up to $200k DOE plus 40% bonus opportunity and benefits package


The VP - HR is responsible for strategic human resource planning for the organization. This role is responsible for directing all the people functions of the Operations groups (Corporate, Management, Field Operations and Manufacturing). This role reports to the CEO and works strategically with all members of the Leadership Team.


Responsibilities


  • Work with the Leadership Team to strategically develop and plan HR initiatives to align with the overall


corporate plans


  • Function as a strategic business advisor to the CEO and senior management of each business unit or specialty group regarding key organizational and management issues.
  • Leads implementation of strategic workforce planning for Company
  • Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of strategic goals.
  • Lead and guide HR team by overseeing employee benefits, talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training, leadership development and compensation.
  • Accountable for staying within budget for Human Resources team.
  • Lead and/or oversee key HR initiatives.
  • Work to establish succession planning for assigned organizations.
  • Translate the strategies into HR department goals, objectives, and systems
  • Responsible for ensuring successful implementation of corporate initiatives and processes which may require balancing corporate goals with business unit or regional practices, goals, and objectives.


Qualifications


  • HR experience in the Oil and Gas industry required
  • Minimum 5+ years of HR leadership level experience encompassing benefits, recruiting, employee relations, compensation, HR compliance, performance management, training and employee development
  • Up to 20% Travel as needed to successfully implement strategic HR initiatives
  • Effective written and verbal communicator, in both one-on-one and group discussions
  • SHRM-SCP Certification preferred
  • International HR experience required
  • Minimum 10+ years of HR experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree is required; MBA or master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Must be a strategic and results-oriented leader, have a strong business orientation and be able to react quickly and effectively to changing situations
