Our client is a successful and growing retail services provider, providing retail design, in-store POP, and retail execution technologies to leading multi-store operators throughout North America. Our client pioneered the development of site profiling technology to assist retailers in targeting their marketing activity to specific sites. They also have expanded their capabilities over recent years to include a retail decor division focused on store design and remodels as well as a technology division licensing the company’s site profiling and retail execution platform to major retailers
Reporting to the Chief Customer Officer, the Vice President of Sales leads and oversees the development and growth of profitable new business and develops and maintains effective key relationships. This position will be responsible for identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities into profitable sales. Position directs, establishes, maintains, and plans the overall policies and goals for the business development function, identifies potential business partners and negotiates agreements. Works with customer service, operations, marketing and/or Executive Team to align with the company's growth strategy. This position will also ensure business growth through directing and managing business development activities to ensure these are delivered in accordance with the organizational strategy.
The VP of Sales is targeted to own all company services across their territory. The targeted market for this role is Chicago, Dallas or a major airport city enabling access to the Eastern US or Western US.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
● Responsible for identifying opportunities and connecting with prospects both through direct prospecting and collaborating with the broader organization
● Delivers customer proposals to include formal RFP’s
● Delivers professional outreach, sales presentations & follow-up correspondence to prospects
● Participates in virtual & onsite meetings with potential clients
● Delivers detailed annual plan for territory along with the tactics to win business
● Provides market intelligence when considering competitive offerings for each company line of service
● Serves as selling expert for the company and assist others with the company message
● Attends various industry and trade association meetings to stay current and drive sales
● Targets and defines key decision makers in each account pursuit in CRM
● Manages pipelines from opportunity identification to contract in CRM
● Manages forecast for expected revenue as prescribed in CRM
Education and Background:
● Bachelors degree in business administration or a related field
● At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in business development, sales and/or marketing with a proven track record in driving growth
● Sales Executive with a proven track record of success in and knowledge of key retail industry segments including C-Store (500+), Grocery, Pharmacy, Wireless, Specialty, Dollar, Food, Drug, Mass, Fashion
Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:
● Demonstrated track record of business development results across retail segments
● Advanced communicator with effective relationship building skills, ability to influence others
● Strong computer skills, with emphasis on MS Office suite, LinkedIn & CRM
● Negotiating skills and the ability to build strategic contracted partnerships
● Team player with the ability to add to the company’s positive can-do culture
● Expert traveler to ensure frequent prospect visits, estimated at 50%
● Experience in revenue ownership with a successful track record of success and demonstrable business expansion and growth
● Proven successful sales team building and management experience
