Job Description

Position Summary

The Vice President of Member Service provides planning, leadership, and strategic vision to the member services department. This position is responsible for ensuring the delivery of exceptional service to members, managing internal and external communications, community outreach programs, economic development, and events. Promotes the image of the Cooperative through a respectful and constructive style while building relationships between Pee Dee Electric, its employees, members, and the community.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparing recommendations for the development, improvement, and expansion of the member communications programs of the Cooperative.
  • Responsible for preparing recommendations for developing, improving, and expanding the Cooperative's energy marketing programs.
  • Evaluates the efficiency of all business processes and procedures in use by the cooperative relative to the functions and responsibilities of the position. Evaluates industry best practices regarding these processes and procedures to make or recommend changes that are beneficial to the Cooperative. Researches, evaluates and implements new technologies and business practices necessary to efficiently provide service to the cooperative membership.
  • Resolves escalated member issues. Responds to inquiries and provides advice and assistance to supervisors as needed.
  • Fosters a professional image by personally being visible and available to staff. Serves as a positive role model and displays a positive attitude.
  • Provide courteous, prompt, and accurate service that will create goodwill and enhance the image of the Cooperative with the member-owners and general public in all daily contacts.
  • Determines resource requirements to effectively and efficiently carry out assigned responsibilities, including but not limited to staffing, budget, materials, equipment, etc., and reviews with management staff as needed. Works within the established budget.
  • Plans and oversees member events, including annual meetings, member appreciation events, voting, and surveying.
  • Plan, organize, and analyze the member services routines by directing and working with employees in this department to make procedures efficient and effective.
  • Manages consumer accounting and the collections processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency and minimize bad debt losses.
  • Practice and uphold all By-Laws and Service Rules and Regulations adopted by the Cooperative.
  • Ensures continuity, clarity, and consistency in member, media, and internal communications. Maintains primary responsibility for community and media relations.
  • Plans and oversees meetings and activities with the cooperative's Awareness Committee.
  • Communicate and coordinate the activities of the Member Service Department with other departments with emphasis on teamwork, maintaining the established goals and positive image of the Cooperative.
  • Manages, supervises, and provides leadership to the Cooperative's member services, economic development, internal and external communications, media, and community relations.
  • Supervises assigned staff by planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and controlling team members' work activities, setting individual performance goals, evaluating individual performance, and training /developing team members' skills, knowledge, and abilities.
  • Responsible for carrying out the strategic direction of the Member Service Department.
  • Oversees and promotes organizational efforts to improve and maintain high ACSI scores consistent with the cooperative's strategic goals.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50.85 - $63.90 per hour
