Reports to: President
Position Objective: Vice President, Global Marketing is responsible for implementing the marketing programs and activities established in all domestic and international markets with the direction of the Marketing Communications Committee, Nutrition Research Committee and Board of Directors.
This position is expected to engage in the comparison and evaluation of possible courses of conduct and to act or make decisions after the various possibilities have been considered and evaluated by the Committees and Board of Directors.
The V.P., Global Marketing will carry out major assignments in conducting the various marketing operations of the company; will have the authority to commit the company in marketing matters that have financial impact; will have the authority to negotiate and bind the organization on matters relative to marketing; will be expected to provide consultation and expert advice to the President, Committees and Board of Directors regarding the employee’s area of responsibility; will participate in planning long- term and short-term marketing objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Public Relations (contracted agencies in various countries)
- Conduct follow-up as necessary to ensure timely, accurate and appropriate communications.
- Manage and oversee an extensive domestic and international industry marketing campaign which includes components related to consumer research, nutrition science, public relations, trade relations and government grants and alternative funding sources.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Proactively and appropriately advise Committees and Board of Directors of the company, complying with the policies of the Board of Directors, following the regulations of the government funded programs, meeting the contractual obligations from independent professional agencies and consultants, and keeping the President apprised of significant developments.
- Manage and oversee the International Program:
- Marketing and Trade Relations (contracted agencies)
- Provide consultation and expert advice to the President, Committees and Board of Directors on marketing plans, programs and activities. Conduct follow up and reporting on plans, programs and activities.
- Evaluate marketing expenses against various budgets to ensure that activities for which employee is responsible remain within budget; report status of expenses and budgetary compliance to the President.
- Nutrition Research (contracted agencies)
- Communicate on a regular basis with membership on marketing and promotional activities.
- Implement marketing programs, monitor and meet budgets, ensure compliance with reporting functions, and obtain expenditure approval from funding sources.
- Establish and maintain calendars and scheduling for all major marketing events.
- Interface with various government agencies from which the company receives funding for marketing activities. Manage the various programs and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Handle confidential information according to strict ethical standards.
- Public Relations (contracted agencies)
- Manage and oversee the Domestic Program:
- Seek alternative funding sources (grants, Market Access Program (MAP), Technical Assistance for Specialty Crops (TASC), etc.).
- Nutrition and Consumer Research (nutrition consultants and contracted agencies)

Experience:
A four-year degree in Marketing or related major is preferred.A minimum of seven years’ experience in a high-level marketing position, preferably in agricultural industry, or in specific brand marketing. Proven success in the development and implementation of domestic and international marketing plans, programs and activities.
