Job Description

Duties

As a Vault Custodian, you will:

  • Receive for safekeeping all dies, plates (Intaglio, Off-set, Miscellaneous, EDM), and other related items of reproduction used in the manufacturing of securities produced by the Bureau.
  • Maintain the established record controls on a current basis, making daily record entries of all new stock as well as historical stock.
  • Physically pull the appropriate items and prepare a Material Transfer Schedule ensures that the actual stock released is properly verified against the Material Transfer Schedule and the requisitioning documents.
  • Conduct periodic physical inventories and maintain accountability control records for individual items in the custody of the Engraving, released to production components of the BEP, and on loan to other authorized agencies or companies.
  • Prepare for delivery of plate items of reproduction manufactured by the BEP for external use by private contractors or on a loan basis to other agencies, when authorized by a Service Order or Print Order.

Physical Requirements:
Work involves walking, standing, bending, pushing and pulling items of reproduction. The incumbent is required to lift and position plates weighing up to approximately 70 to 80 pounds. This position also requires the incumbent to operate a shredder by lifting and loading plates weighing approximately 7.5 pounds each into the machine.

SUITABILITY, CLEARANCE & REQUIREMENTS: A background investigation will be required for all new hires. OTHER INFORMATION:

  • The facility typically shuts down annually between Christmas and New Year's Day. As such, all BEP employees must take leave for work days during the shutdown period.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Weekend work and overtime, if applicable, will be scheduled when needed based on production requirements as determined by Management.
