Your Role and Responsibilities

As a member of our IBM Tax team, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your expertise with a market leader, while exploring and connecting with virtually every part of IBM, in over 160 countries.
As a Federal Tax Manager you will be responsible for:
- Providing leadership and career guidance for the development and motivation of the team.
- Assist in review of state income tax returns and supporting work papers
- Preparation/review of calculations supporting the domestic income tax provision calculation
- Partner with various groups within the broader tax department, corporate accounting, and treasury teams to gather data needed to support the income tax returns/calculations
- Research various federal and state income tax matters
- Assist with federal/state income tax notices; draft responses to federal/state income tax audit information requests
- Support process improvement initiatives to increase overall efficiency of the domestic tax compliance process
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
- Professional experience in U.S. income tax compliance matters in public accounting or large multinational corporation
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple responsibilities, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated with ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience with Corptax a plus
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- Master’s degree in Accounting

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
