The Urban Outfitters Temporary Print Designer will assist in the creation, development, and oversight of the execution of original print artwork use on Urban Outfitters Women's apparel and other end products.

Overview

The Print Designer is responsible for assisting in the creation and execution of all women’s apparel prints for the Urban Outfitters brand. This position requires a strong collaborative and explorative designer, with a hands-on approach to support multiple creative projects.

This role focuses on creation, development, preparation, and execution of a wide variety of apparel prints. Projects include original art creation, vintage CAD, color multiplying, repeat prints.

The Print Designer should have a great understanding of Adobe creative suite, as well as familiarity with print best practices. Additionally, candidates should possess a passion for current and future trends in design and fashion.

Responsibilities

• Present ideas with clear communication of intention, offering several solutions.
• Participate in a 5 day in-person work week to gain familiarity with brand, position, and team.
• Utilize time management skills and organize files in a clean sharable manner.
• Facilitate and promote collaboration with frequent and open communication.
• Create original artwork, CAD and color seasonal print collections.
• Assist in file preparation, file hand-off, setting up presentations and work for reviews and other print collection requirements.
• Work with team leads and project management to communicate project status and maintain priorities.
• Anticipate and participate by seeking opportunities, researching, being thoughtful to design trends and concepts, and helping expand the UO design point of view.

Requirements

• Strong Understanding of printing techniques and ability to problem solve around print limitations
• Strong understanding Urban Outfitters customer
• Experience in apparel print/pattern/graphic design
• PhotoShop, Illustrator, NedGraphics, and Tradestone experience preferred
• Bachelor Degree in Textiles, Graphic Design or related professional experience
• Collaborative mentality with strong cross-department communication skills
