Job Description

Title
Design Coordinator

Reports to
Designer

Supervises

Overview
To assist the Designers in the creation, development, and execution of own brand product appropriate for the UO customer.

Responsibilities
  • Organize and maintain seasonal sketch binders
  • Attend relevant benchmark meetings and take detailed notes as directed
  • Generate style folders, update development details and approvals in Wed Pdm
  • Review and comment on TOPs
  • Assist in sample preparation for Pre-Proto and Finalization presentations
  • Assist Designer with inspiration and trend research: fabric/yarns, tears, media research
  • Perform miscellaneous administrative tasks as needed
  • Review incoming garments with Designer and cross-functional partners to ensure they are correct
  • Check and coordinate weekly development packages to be passed off to the PD team
  • Build, maintain, and update design boards throughout the season
  • Communicate and follow-up with the vendors on style development details
  • Create technical flat sketches to style specification and set-up corresponding spec and trim sheets

Qualifications
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask in fast paced environment
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Illustrator, Web Pdm)
  • Knowledge of basic garment construction
  • Internship in the apparel or textile industry is preferred, but not required
  • Sound communication skills to effectively collaborate with Design, Buying, PD, Production, and vendors

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion or Textile Design or other related experience

Some travel may be required.
