AECOM is seeking a Communications and Outreach Specialist to join our urban planning team in Philadelphia, PA. The ideal candidate will use their creativity and communications skills to translate complex technical ideas into easy-to-understand content. They will play a key role in engaging stakeholders and leading public involvement efforts for major transportation infrastructure projects in the region.

The successful candidate will:

• Prepare content for social media, press, and newspaper publications
• Manage stakeholder coordination and public involvement tasks for projects at multiple scales
• Develop and manage online survey campaigns
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to prepare presentations for virtual and in-person meetings
• Organize and facilitate client, stakeholder, and community meetings at locations throughout eastern Pennsylvania

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• 2 years of experience in a corporate/professional role
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Urban Planning or related degree AND four (4) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience &/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to facilitate public and stakeholder meetings at client specified venues and times
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe InDesign, and online survey tools
• Experience working with public sector clients in the transportation industry
• Proven ability to support stakeholder communication, media relations programs, community outreach, and/or special events
• Familiarity with conducting public outreach as part of the NEPA process
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
