Key School seeks a full-time Upper School Math teacher for the 2023-2024 academic year. Primary responsibilities include teaching four sections of Math (two-three preparations). In addition, this position would include a role as an Advisor to a group of 8-10 students and supporting our student-led activity program.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Math colleagues in the Upper School and other divisions
- Perform duties such as study hall, library proctor, etc.
- Teach four sections of Upper School Math, including an Upper School course offered to 8th graders
- Advise a group of 8-10 students

- Educational background in Math and experience teaching Math at the Upper School level

- Familiarity with learning management systems (such as Google Classroom) and ability to create and leverage engaging multimedia content as digital tools for collaboration

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to establish trust and credibility
Qualifications:
- Two to three years of classroom teaching experience
- Bachelor's degree; Master’s degree preferred

Daily desk work, including significant amounts of telephone and computer time; as part of daily routines, the ability to move around a mid-size campus with uneven pavement and manage stairs; frequent walking inside and outside responding to campus issues and/or checking on various departmental progress.

Technical Competencies:
All candidates for teaching positions should be familiar with learning management systems such as Google Classroom and have the ability to create and deliver engaging multimedia content using a variety of digital tools. Key is a Google Workspace for Education school. Candidates should be proficient in using Google applications, have a solid understanding of cloud-based storage and file-sharing platforms, and efficiently manage email and scheduling using Gmail and Google Calendar. They should be proficient in virtual communication tools such as Zoom or Google meet and have basic troubleshooting skills to resolve common technical issues that may arise in the classroom.
Work Schedule/Travel:
Occasionally, there may be business and school functions that will require your presence to work flexible hours, including nights and/or weekends and travel outside of Annapolis.
