Position Summary

Summary:

An undergraduate research assistant position (10-20 hours per week) is available to support the grant “Multilingual and Multidialectal approaches in the Arabic classroom” (PI: Dr. Emma Trentman, Sponsor: Qatar Foundation International). This position is for summer 2023 with potential for employment in academic year 2023-2024. The primary duties will focus on classroom research and materials development.

Duties:

  • Create short videos for Arabic students;
  • Create vocabulary lists with sound fiiles and activities based on these videos;
  • Edit a Wordpress site for teaching Arabic
  • Code classroom data using the MAXQDA software
  • Video Arabic classes

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate student registered for classes in Fall 2023
  • Advanced proficiency in Arabic and English

  • Language teaching experience
  • Knowledge of North African Arabic dialects
  • Experience with linguistic analysis
  • Experience with qualitative data analysis
