Ultrasound Technologist /Echo Tech Position Summary:

Utilizes a diagnostic ultrasound machine to obtain the required two dimensional and M-mode views of the cardiac anatomy. Measures the views that have been taken and puts results on paper for the physician to read by performing the following duties.

A Day in the Life of an Ultrasound Tech/Echo Tech at MyMichigan Health:

• 25%* Performs holter monitoring set up and preferably scanning.
• 50%* Operates the cardiac diagnostic ultrasound machine to obtain the required views. These include: two-dimensional mode, including parasternal long axis view, the parasternal short axis view, the apical four chamber view, sub-costal views and suprasternal views.
• 25%* Performs color-flows and pulsed wave doppler testing.

Requirements We Are Looking For:

• ARDMS required.
• Associate’s Degree or higher in Ultrasound Technology or related healthcare field.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists with cardiac stress testing, when necessary, either by running the stress equipment or taking blood pressures.
• Performs other duties within cardiopulmonary services as qualified.
• Performs EKG's when necessary.
