Position Details
SCHEDULE: Start time is 5:00 am to 1:30 pm working 8 hours per day.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Nutrition Services Truck Driver/Warehouseperson engages in receiving, storing, inventory control, processing, and delivering all orders for food items for the Nutrition Services department. Nutrition Services Truck Driver/Warehouseperson is responsible for delivery of food, supplies, equipment, and all other materials associated with the school meals program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Load and secure food and supplies into refrigerated truck.
- In a safe and timely manner, deliver food and supplies to assigned schools.
- Retrieve all equipment and other assorted items from individual school cafeterias.
- Maintain truck in a safe and sanitary manner.
- Monitor routine maintenance of assigned vehicle.
- Understand and comply with all policies and procedures outlined by the Nutrition Services Department.
- Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must maintain OSHA certification to operate forklift and pallet jack safely.
- Must tolerate working in close quarters.
- Must hold or obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B within 6 months of employment.
- Currently hold or ability to gain a Multnomah County food handler’s card or ServSae Certification by the first day of employment.
- Must be able to multi-task, organize, and prioritize to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Must demonstrate ability to clearly understand written and verbal instructions.
- Must demonstrate the strength and stamina sufficient to maintain a rigorous work schedule requiring continuous and heavy physical exertion including repetitive lifting of up to 75 lbs, and pulling up to 400 lbs.
