Job Summary

eBay is seeking a Treasury Analyst/Junior Trader with Fixed Income sales/trading or operational experience to assist the Investments team within eBay’s corporate treasury. The team is responsible for supporting all cash investment activities across eBay’s global $5+bn of corporate and customer cash management activities. In addition, this team is responsible for the risk governance and controls which ensure the integrity of eBay’s treasury operations.

The responsibilities of this role will include three functions: Credit Analysis/Portfolio monitoring, Trade Support and Back Up Trader

Credit Analysis/Portfolio monitoring

• Analyze individual credits, portfolio credit risks, liquidity profiles, and relative value opportunities.
• Work with Portfolio Managers to continually analyze and evaluate portfolio positioning.
• Assist with stress case and scenario testing across the enterprise to support accounting and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in preparation for business reviews and presentations to senior leadership.
• Conduct economic, investment, and credit research to support investment and risk management decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with investment policy, corporate governance, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Partner with risk and treasury teams to increase automation, improve data quality, and create new trading tools.
• Perform ongoing monitoring of the investment portfolio including risk reporting, investment memorandums, and asset allocation analysis.

Trade Support

• Automation of operational processes and procedures (utilization of Quantum preferred)
• Coordinate with eBay’s TOC, Accounting and FP&A teams to support performance reviews and forecasting
• Conduct various reconciliations of cash, positions, transactions, etc. with external and internal systems, platforms, and providers
• Assist with the month-end close process management and reporting
• Policy exception tracking and reporting
• Support the overall Fixed Income processes, working with Portfolio Manager, Cash, FX and operations teams to ensure seamless capital markets activity

Back Up Trader

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with securities dealers to source investment opportunities.
• Assist in managing daily investing activities for eBay’s investment portfolio
• Work side-by-side with PM; communicate market sentiment and relevant technicals
• Study the market for investment opportunities, with focus on idea generation, sourcing securities and execution
• Execute trades as directed by the Portfolio Manager

Job Requirements

• Ownership mentality
• Ability to be in Austin Office 3+ days a week
• Ability to work 7-4 CST
• Motivated and able to think critically and implement ideas in a fast-changing environment
• 2+yrs experience in a securities markets either in sales/trading or operations
• Demonstrate knowledge of treasury, cash management, and accounting principles.
• Possess a BS/BA degree (finance, economics, business preferred).
• Strong fundamental understanding of economic concepts, financial markets, monetary policy, asset allocation, and investment theory
• Experience with corporate financial modeling and analytical projects, including the ability to demonstrate strong analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Well-organized ability to prioritize and multi-task in a busy, multifaceted, and ever-changing environment.

Preferred

• Experience in financial modeling and financial analysis
• 2+yrs experience in a fixed income trading with focus on: Agency, Corporate, Taxable Munis

Technology Requirements

• Software: Bloomberg AIM, MarketAxess
• Strong Excel skills and experience with macros and pivot tables
• Technical experience with Treasury Management Systems (i.e. Quantum/FIS)
• Ability to leverage systems or technology to automate processes
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint
