The Opportunity: Contribute to The Growth of Your Career

As a Transportation Supervisor you will support the Regional Manager of Transportation with all aspects of cross dock operations and store deliveries out of the Charlotte DC. The Transportation Supervisor acts as a primary point of contact for Logistics and serves as the liaison among Distribution Services and Store Operations. The supervisor will also be directly responsible for managing a team of transportation coordinators.

You will support TJX logistical strategies and deliver merchandise to stores in a cost-efficient manner while meeting or exceeding service standards. From ensuring on time delivery of goods to our stores, to supporting logistics strategies to support our strong growth, you are critical in enabling the treasure hunt experience our customers love! You will be assigned a mix of core responsibilities to deliver exceptional supply chain operational performance, drive cost savings and enable process improvement to support our continued growth

The Responsibilities You Will Have in This Role:

• Consistently deliver on key performance indicators around service consistency, quality, capacity, and cost
• Supervise scheduling of cross dock deliveries and store deliveries in conjunction with Merchandising, Distribution Services and Store Operations plans and adjusts schedules to maximize truck utilization while maintaining flow to the Service Centers and Stores
• Plan and communicate the truck capacity requirements and ensure an adequate supply of equipment
• Ensure steady flow of inbound and outbound movements, resulting in the timely arrival of merchandise to stores and maximum utilization of lowest cost carriers
• Supervise the Charlotte transportation coordinator team ensuring they are meeting their KPI targets, building strong working relationships with key stakeholders and providing real time coaching and development
• Collaboratively drive the business, working with partners from across the company including Distribution Services, Store Operations, Finance, Loss Prevention, as well as our Third-Party Logistics partners
• Lead logistics coordinators in executing daily logistics tasks around scheduling, reporting and auditing detention and bobtails and carrier communication.
• Implement all aspect of our Q4 strategy to ensure successful peak season and year-end inventory execution
• Manage carrier performance, recognizing and celebrating wins, and coaching and holding accountable when performance does not meet expectations

Who We Are Looking For: You.

• Knowledge of motor carrier industry
• Working knowledge of transportation management systems and software
• Understanding of distribution center operations
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
• Ability to work cross functionally to deliver results
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• A minimum of 2- 4 years’ experience in Logistics or Supply Chain
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking
• Experience leading and managing teams
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field OR related work experience
