Job Description
Producers Dairy Foods, a family-owned leading supplier and distributor of high-quality award-winning dairy products, has been located in the Central Valley of California since 1932. We are looking for dedicated Transportation Driver, Class A (Day Shift) to join our winning team out of Fresno, CA. The Transportation Driver will be responsible for transporting our products to our valued customers in a timely, cost efficient manner. The Transportation Driver will be responsible for demonstrating the Producers Dairy Core Values and carrying out our purpose of Nourishing Lives.

Responsibilities:
  • Loading equipment on trailer for return to our locations; maintaining accurate records of transported equipment.
  • Verifying assigned delivery route for the day; obtaining the proper delivery tickets and load sheets along with any other resources in order to successfully complete deliveries.
  • This job description reflects management’s assignments of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
  • Compliance with all federal, state and company driving regulations.
  • Locating empty equipment (bossy carts, green cases, IC racks); counting and securing equipment on pallets if warranted.
  • Locating assigned equipment in yard; performing a vehicle pre-trip inspection and recording any deficiencies; checking load-in trailer for stability while transporting and accurately counting product.
  • Completing preventive maintenance requirements; troubleshooting malfunctions; maintaining safe vehicle conditions.
  • Approaching work with a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset, and engaging in Producers Dairy Mission Statement to identify, value, prioritize, resource and sustain improvement opportunities.
  • Maintaining professional and appropriate dress, hygiene and personal appearance.
  • Interfacing with customers in a friendly professional manner delivering superior customer service.
  • Collecting, reviewing, and submitting accurate route settlement paperwork.

Qualifications:

Minimum:
  • Knowledge, comprehension, and compliance with DOT rules/regulations.
  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Valid Class A driver license and a clean DMV record.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
  • Scheduling and map reading experience.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English. Ability to read, write and speak in Spanish a plus.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to solve problems, accept constructive feedback and show flexibility should priorities and/or deadlines change.
  • At least a year and half of over the road driving experience.
  • Demonstrate good judgment and problem solving skills as well as being an organized record keeper.
  • Demonstrated organization and accuracy skills; self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple projects/tasks with competing deadlines.
Preferred:
  • Previous experience with XATA, ADI, or any handheld device.
  • Previous public relations/customer service experience.
