Summary


HealthySteps is a national, evidence-based primary care model that integrates a child development professional into the pediatric care team. Now in more than 200 sites, HealthySteps sites provide families with child and family screening, support, and guidance; appropriate, individualized community referrals; and promote child and family health and development across all domains.


The Training & Technical Assistance Specialist is part of the HealthySteps (HS) National Office Team. This position is primarily responsible for onboarding, delivering trainings and providing technical assistance for new sites in the HS network. The Training & Technical Assistance Specialist is also responsible for collaborating within the Quality Team to create ongoing professional development for HS Specialists, supporting measures aimed at bringing HS sites to fidelity, editing and expanding existing HS training materials as well as revising ZTT content to be used as resources for the HS network. End-users for materials will include caregivers, HS Specialists, nurses, physicians and other multi-disciplinary professionals involved in providing high-quality well-child care to infants and toddlers from birth through age three.


Essential Responsibilities


Healthy Steps sites
  • Develop and maintain communications with sites in support of National Office strategy and goals
  • Provide technical assistance to HS sites with focus on meeting fidelity metrics and continuous quality improvement
  • Guide sites through the onboarding process, following HS Site Management Protocol, including development of their HS Implementation Plan
  • Oversee a caseload of sites from onboarding through full implementation with fidelity:
  • Provide fidelity remediation supports to sites with fidelity shortfalls
  • Develop and implement HealthySteps model supports such as resources, webinars, and learning collaboratives
  • Deliver HS training to new sites and on-going training to existing sites on an as-needed basis
  • Develop and provide professional development offerings for HealthySteps Specialists


National Office Operations


  • Monitor and update the HealthySteps Performance Management Data System (PMDS) and the HealthySteps Hub (site portal) to ensure smooth operations related to supporting sites progress toward HS fidelity
  • Review and revise website, materials, and all other HealthySteps content as needed so that it aligns with new branding, marketing strategy, training, values, and goals
  • Collect and organize data related to the HS project, including but not limited to training, as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the program
  • Assist in developing and supervising expert faculty system with other ZTT trainers and consultants, as needed
  • Participate in revision of training and technical assistance practices, based on required project goals and outcomes, to ensure they are relevant and feasible for sites
  • Update current publications (print and Web) on topics related to parenting and child development, using research and science-based sources
  • Assist in maintaining records of team’s activities and workflows
  • Participate in regularly scheduled team meetings and organizational meetings


Essential Skills & Experience


  • Familiar with relational database platforms, such as Salesforce preferred
  • Familiarity with health care organizations and electronic health record systems a plus
  • Solid experience with continuous quality improvement processes or cycles of improvement
  • 2+ years of experience providing training and technical assistance for an evidence-based program
  • Strong teamwork, facilitation skills, and cross team/cross discipline coordination
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Knowledge of infant and toddler development and behavior, especially strengths-based and family-centered approaches
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
  • Expert in Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience working within a data collection system and monitoring progress
  • Familiarity with implementation science, change readiness, and adult learning
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide range of audiences
  • Specialized knowledge in at least one of the following areas a plus: developmental screenings and early intervention, parental anxiety and depression, care coordination and systems navigation, positive parenting and early learning, team-based well child visits, developmental/behavioral consults, motivational interviewing
  • Ability to be flexible in responding to emerging site needs
  • Experience in organizing, developing, and leading trainings for multi-disciplinary audiences
  • Solid organizational and project management skills; ability to prioritize tasks and manage time to effectively contribute to multiple implementation efforts simultaneously in an efficient manner

EDUCATION


Minimum of Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or related experience in Human Services related field such as, Public Health, Child Development, Advanced Nursing, etc. preferred.


Physical Requirements


While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is frequently required to use finger dexterity and sufficient hand dexterity to use a computer keyboard and be capable of reading a computer screen. Also, they may need to remain seated for extended periods, can perform repetitive motions, and reach for objects. An employee is frequently required to hold a writing instrument, communicate verbally, and hear well enough to detect nuances and receive detailed information. They may be required to grasp objects, push, and pull objects, bend, stand, walk, squat, or kneel. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision for data preparation or analysis, and expansive reading. May need to lift up to 30 pounds.


WORKING CONDITIONS


The work conditions described here are representative of those an employee encounter while performing this job. Depending on work location, the incumbent will typically work indoors in a heated and air-conditioned office, with a mixture of natural, incandescent, and fluorescent light with low to moderate noise levels or be subject to working conditions conducive to a home environment. When travel is expected, the incumbent will be exposed to outside environmental conditions during those times.
