Job Summary


As a part of our continued expansion, Targray requires the services of aTrade Finance Officerto join our Global Trade Finance Centre under the Treasury Department. This role will be based remotely in the United States.


Responsibilities


  • Additional ad hoc duties required by international team members or divisional managers and will continuously work closely with finance group in Montreal, Switzerland, and India.
  • Review, negotiate and arrange trade finance and banking products and services necessary to secure commodity trades and financing activities.
  • Review all Import and Export LCs received as per Company’s Internal Policy and ensure LCs are received timely as required. Prepare and coordinate documents to make presentation under LC to Targray Banks.
  • Review and prepare Trade finance documents to banks for documentary transactions. Ensure documents are correctly dispatched to relevant Targray Banks, Buyer’s Banks or directly to Buyer as per Deal structure.
  • Provide relevant, analytical decision making in optimizing key Treasury mandates such as financing opportunities between lending parties and pricing structures.
  • Participate and on occasion lead ad hoc projects supporting Targray’s continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Operations team/Traders/Finance/Risk/Legal team on new Trade finance transactions and deal structuring as per Targray Financing policies.
  • Manage the day-to-day relationships and communications with financing banks on trade finance transactions and future commodity trade flows; focus on relationship building.


Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Experience in commodities trading industry, supply chain management, logistics firm is required.
  • Outstanding business judgment and intuition, and ability to take initiatives, learn quickly, and provide recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze financial information, both structured and unstructured.
  • Proven ability to navigate through complexity and effectively solve problems.
  • MS Office proficiency (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); Expert level Excel skills is an asset.
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of work experience in managing trade finance instruments and documents specifically Letter of Credits, Collection Documents, Bank Guarantees, and Supply Chain Financing Solutions (Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payables).
  • Experience in negotiating trade finance and working capital financing agreements is highly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build up a good rapport and trust with counterparties and banking partners.
  • Excellent (100% fluent) English language skills (spoken, written and comprehension). Functional knowledge in French an asset.
  • Experience in an international business and/or multinational corporation or firm is required.
