Bladenboro, Located In Southeastern North Carolina’s Bladen County, Is Currently Seeking A Hands-on Self-starter To Be Our Next Town Administrator/Finance Officer, Reporting To A Six-member Commission. Fifteen Minutes Equidistant To Three Larger Towns, And Only An Hour’s Drive From Fayetteville/Fort Liberty (formerly Bragg), The Carolina Beaches, And The State’s Best Golfing Venues, Bladenboro Is Ideally Centrally Located. This Rural Community Of 1,700 Has Survived Two 500-year Hurricane Floods Since 2016, And Is Undergoing A Re-birth, Including An Ongoing Capital Improvement Program, A Downtown Revitalization Project, And Regionalizing Our WWTP. Ongoing Grants From Several State And Local Agencies Total Some $18,000,000, With Another $12,500,000+ Being Sought. The Administrator Will Oversee A Town Staff Totaling 15 In Administration/Finance, Police, Public Works, And Utilities; The FY 2023-24 Operating Budget Is $2,500,774, Plus $105,000 In Capital Requests. A Citizen-run/town-financed Parks & Recreation Committee Was Recently Inaugurated; A Fully Staffed Volunteer Fire Department Is Tangentially Associated With The Government. A 4-year Degree Is Required, Preferably In Public Or Business Administration, As Well As 2 Years’ Experience In Public Administration, Accounting, Or Finance; A Combination Of Education And Related Experience May Be Considered. Experience In Grants Administration, Planning & Zoning, And Economic & Community Development Is Desired. Salary Is Currently $60,000 And Is Negotiable DOQ/E, Plus A Comprehensive Benefits Package.
