Job Description
RMS Owego MTA is seeking a Tool and Die Maker to support our production manufacturing facility whose mission is to fabricate machined components needed for the success of our armed forces both at home and abroad. The Owego MTA is instrumental in the production of various components utilized on helicopters, radar systems, and electronic warfare systems that are vital to the success of our service men and women.
A Tool and Die maker at RMS Owego MTA will be responsible for the fabrication of precision fixturing to be used in the manufacture of CNC machined parts. The T&D maker will also build prototype and small production lots of machined parts using lathes, manual mills, CNC mills, and jig borers. The individual will be required to support rework of production parts and assemblies to include the removal and replacement of threaded inserts as well as possible modification of these parts.
Basic Qualifications:
To be qualified to interview for this role, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:
  • Manual mill, lathe, and Blanchard grinding experience
  • Strong understanding of GD&T
  • Experienced tool and die maker with a high level of competency fabricating fixturing and manufacturing machined parts to print
  • Computer experience

PLEASE NOTE:
  • Applicants selected must successfully pass a background investigation and drug test.
Additionally, any roles requiring Department of Defense Security Clearances will require US Citizenship.
Desired Skills:
Preferably, you should also have these desired skills:
  • Operation of CNC tool room mills
  • Jig borer experience
  • Journeyman tool & die maker
  • Programming CNC tool room mills using CAM software such as Mastercam
  • Blanchard, surface, jig, or cylindrical grinding experience

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
