Job Description

Job Summary


This position requires extensive knowledge in the setting of Precious and semi-precious gemstones in a wide variety of different setting styles, while working in both platinum and gold.



Key Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities


  • It is the setter’s responsibility to make the shop manager or foreman aware of any unsafe setting situation prior to damage occurring. They must be able look over their setting job and communicate any concerns, about the fabricated piece or the stones provided to the shop manager or foreman before problems arise.
  • Should be capable of setting in a variety of setting styles; the most common being prong, bezel, pave and channel settings.
  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of setting all sizes and shapes of diamonds and colored stones-both precious and semi-precious.



Job Qualifications


  • Must be highly motivated
  • Minimum of 10 years setting experience in a wide variety of setting styles.
  • Good communication skills.
