Temporary, Part-Time Hourly Video Editor

Position

The video editor reports directly to the Project Coordinator of this grant. This position provides video production and editing services including filming and postproduction to support the various initiatives in Rowan Online. As a lead editor, you will be responsible for assembling recorded film and video footage to broadcast-worthy projects that accurately reflect the vision of the project. Some travel for on-location filming will be required. Some evening, weekend, and holiday work is to be expected.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Transport, set up, and operate various production equipment including cameras, audio and video recorders, lighting equipment, props, and microphones for location and studio production if needed
• Piece together stills, footage, sound effects, dialog, and animation effects
• Inserting dialog, sound effects, music, graphics, and special effects
• Supervise and maintain audio/visual equipment
• Develop production schedules based on timelines
• Maintain project documentation and training materials
• Experience with post-production editing
• Collaborate and consult with clients to create professional, high-quality multimedia
• Budget and allocate resources, set deadlines, and select optimal forms of media for projects
• Trimming footage and putting together the rough project
• Provide videography services at Rowan University Glassboro campus and locations off-campus as needed.
• Create a final cut for broadcasting
• Work as part of a team to establish project deliverables

Qualifications:

Required

• Be able to work with both technical and non-technical staff
• Have strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Have excellent oral and written communication skills
• Minimum of 1 year experience post-production services including footage review, digital video editing, basic effects rendering (lower thirds, green screen, transitions, and other basic digital effects), and video rendering and publishing handling professional video equipment, producing digital video for professional projects, and working with/managing film subjects.
• Minimum of 1 year experience directing/producing professional video
• Be extremely customer-service oriented
• Be able to work independently to solve problems with minimal supervision
• A Bachelor's degree is required.

• Experience providing customer service and technical support to end users
• Experience with digital effects software such as Apple Motion and Final Cut Pro X or Adobe Premiere

Hourly Rate: $27
