Technology Delivery Leader Jobs

Marsh McLennan, a global leader in professional services, is seeking a Technology Delivery Leader for our Guy Carpenter business based in the New York City office.

What can you expect?

· MMC is looking for a Technology Delivery Leader to manage a portfolio of applications in the IT Global Strategic Advisory and Data Services vertical. You will be experienced in all aspects of managing medium to moderately complex projects in a fast-paced large multi-national organization. This includes determining deadlines, holding team members accountable for assigned responsibilities, identifying risks, facilitating problem resolution with stakeholders, managing resources, providing analytics and developing/presenting reports to senior management.

· This critical leadership role will be responsible for portfolio governance, change project oversight and project management, production support and budget management.

· You will be responsible for managing both the entire portfolio of projects and individual projects as needed, ensuring a successful outcome of on-time delivery, within budget and to the highest quality.

· You will formulate technology strategy, drive innovation and remove blockers to ensure successful Technology delivery.

· You will also be responsible for overseeing teams consisting of employees and consultants and will ensure the prioritization, management and monitoring of technical activities to meet client/user needs.

· This is an opportunity to collaborate effectively with other teams on an ongoing basis, including collaborating with the IT Director of Global Strategic Advisory & Data Services to manage and oversee the budget and operations, including resource allocation and ongoing capacity planning.

We will count on you to:

· Be the primary point of contact and accountable for the delivery of assigned projects and programs

· Participate in the initiation phase and launch of new projects and ensure business benefit, high-level scope, budget, timeline, operating and governance model, staffing, key assumptions and success criteria have been agreed and communicated to all stakeholders

· Create and manage realistic and credible Road Maps and Flight Plans

· Work with stakeholders to agree upon project deliverables, milestones and target dates

· Communicate effectively with the team, including internal users of the support process, to resolve or escalate conflicts

· Recommend and lead complex process improvements to increase efficiency

· Execute relevant implementation, support, and change management processes (i.e. Software Development Lifecycle and Change Management)

· Manage team staffing and collaboration in a matrix organization with globally distributed teams

· Learn and conform to all established IT governance and project delivery processes

· Participate in internal and external audits as required for a portfolio of applications in the Global Strategic Advisory & Data Services vertical

· Lead the annual budget process for a portfolio of applications in Global Strategic Advisory & Data Services and facilitate monthly budget forecast reviews

What you need to have:

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent work experience

· 10+ years’ experience in delivery of IT, large scale applications implementation projects in a global, matrix environment

· Experience in project initiation and requirements phases of large technology or business change planning, execution, and benefits realization

· Implementation experience with both vendor products and custom developed applications

· Experience in managing and inspiring teams that consist of both company employees and 3rd parties

· Proven track record in delivering program/projects on-time and within budget

· Very strong communication, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills

· Knowledge of secure software development life cycle methodologies and best practices

· Knowledge of IT Systems (e.g., Infrastructure, Applications and Data)

· Knowledge of project financials (ROI, CapEx and OpEx)

What makes you stand out:

· Project Management Professional (PMP)

· Agile Project Management certification (SAFe or similar)

· Experience leading large scale data analytics and other complex programs

· Familiarity with Cloud-based technology solutions (e.g., Azure)

· Familiarity with data platforms and reporting/analytics toolsets (e.g., Databricks, Azure Data Factory, etc.)

· Re-insurance or primary brokerage insurance industry experience
