MajorDuties
As a Technical Writer-Editor you will: Based on an in-depth knowledge of the subject matter, serve as a technical expert and writes and edits products that articulate, interpret, and explain complex or potentially controversial policies, programs, and research findings. Use an expanded range of principles, practices, methods, and techniques to research, analyze, and present scientific and/or technical information that is novel, unique, abstract in nature, and/or has a multiplicity of themes. Authorize clearance of scientific and technical materials for publication. Develop and/or makes available policies, procedures, and instructions for clearing materials. Oversee contractor performance and/or coordinates logistical matters with clients and contractor(s). Ensure that deliverables are consistent with specifications and quality standards are met. Conduct extensive research on the subject matter including interviewing and/or observing subject matter experts, researching journals, on-line sources, and other substantive source material to write scientific and technical materials.

Continue Requirements In accordance with Executive Order 12564 of September 14, 1986, The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is A Drug-Free Federal Workplace. The Federal government, as the largest employer in the Nation, can and should show the way towards achieving drug-free workplaces through programs designed to offer drug users a helping hand, and at the same time demonstrating to drug users and potential drug users that drugs will not be tolerated in the Federal workplace.
