Job Description
Questar III BOCES announces a part-time, stipend based, Virtual Science Teacher position to serve students in our Virtual Learning Academy (VLA). The Questar III VLA is an innovative synchronous online instructional program that supports our regional school district students in a remote learning environment. All NYS Certified 7-12 Science teachers are welcome to apply.
Teacher Responsibilities include:
  • One-hour video class sessions will be scheduled twice per week. Additional video sessions may be scheduled at the teacher’s discretion.
  • Provide substantive interaction with students using flexible, individualized, and best practice online instruction.
  • Promote a positive learning environment that encourages students to actively engage in their learning.
  • Communicate goals for the course and discuss changes or additional goals with each student as needed throughout the course.
  • Ensure content and assignments are aligned with the New York State Learning Standards/Assessments and meet student needs.
