We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Engineer with expertise in cloud computing and data migration to join our IT team. As a System Engineer - Cloud/Data Migration, you will play a critical role in designing, planning, and executing the migration of on-premises data and applications to cloud environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, implement migration strategies, and ensure seamless and secure data transitions. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of cloud platforms, strong project management skills, and a proven track record of successful data migration projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and data migration best practices to propose innovative solutions.
  • Design and plan data migration strategies, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Document data migration processes, methodologies, and best practices for knowledge sharing and standardization.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to understand data migration requirements and business objectives.
  • Execute data migration tasks, including data extraction, transformation, and loading to cloud platforms.
  • Collaborate with cloud providers and vendors to ensure successful data migration and integration.
  • Monitor data migration progress and troubleshoot issues that may arise during the migration.
  • Validate and verify data integrity and accuracy throughout the migration process.
  • Implement security measures to safeguard data during transit and at rest in the cloud environment.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Project management skills and the ability to lead data migration projects from inception to completion.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex data migration challenges.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple data migration projects and priorities..
  • Strong understanding of data migration techniques, data integration, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
  • Proven experience as a System Engineer or in a similar role, with a focus on cloud computing and data migration projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience with cloud migration tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Education and Experience:

  • Must possess minimum of 8 years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Requirements:

  • U.S Citizenship is required.
  • This position is hybrid (on-site/remote) position. Candidate will be required to work on-site at minimum, three days a week.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $175,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
