Job Description

Job Summary
Installs, configures, and tests operating systems, application software, and system management tools. Investigates and coordinates the resolution of potential and actual service problems. Maintains operational documentation. Advises on the correct and effective use of hardware and software products. Defines customers’ needs and functionality in a service development cycle. Tailors’ endpoint software and hardware solutions to maximize functionality and implements system automation as required for better efficiency. Ensures that services and components meet and continue to meet all agreed performance targets and service levels. Collaborates cross organizationally to ensure high quality deliverables within guidelines, policies, and procedures. Assists in the coordination of various teams testing, evaluating, and implementation of enterprise solutions.

Primary Activities and Responsibilities

  • Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager
  • Performs a broad range of complex technical or professional work activities, in a variety of contexts, selecting appropriately from applicable standards, methods, tools and applications. Participates in external activities related to own specialism.
  • Plans own service request work to meet given objectives and processes. Works under general direction within a clear framework of accountability. Exercises substantial personal responsibility and autonomy.
  • Performs project related work and makes decisions which influence the success of projects and team objectives. Plans, schedules and monitors work to meet time and quality targets and in accordance with relevant procedures.
  • Investigates incidents, defines and resolves complex problems. Influences team and specialist peers internally
  • Maintains an awareness of developing technologies and their application and takes some responsibility for personal development

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
  • 1 or more years of experience in systems administration

Equivalent Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 4 or more years of experience in formation Systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
  • 4 or more years of experience in formation Systems, Transportation/Intermodal Operations or Logistics

Knowledge and Skills

  • General knowledge of enterprise hardware lifecycle management
  • Ability to rapidly absorb new technical information and apply it effectively
  • Industry knowledge of Windows and Mac OS endpoint devices
  • Administration experience with enterprise device management solutions, SCCM, Intune, Workspace One
  • Ability to use an analytical and systematic approach to problem solving
  • Ability to communicate fluently orally and in writing, and present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Industry knowledge of mobile devices, tablets, cellular phones
  • Microsoft productivity suite knowledge, with a strong background in enterprise delivery and support.
  • Experience with executive level support
  • Has a good appreciation of the wider field of information systems, their use in relevant employment areas and how they relate to business activities
  • Experience providing multi-media support
  • General knowledge of enterprise software lifecycle management
  • Knowledge of specific technical specialisms, with an ability to provide detailed advice regarding their application and execution of specialized tasks

Job Requirements

  • Work hours may vary in length and schedule (may include a non-standard work week)
  • Some travel may be required
  • Hours which include rotating on-call responsibilities which may be outside standard hours
