Description


The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking an INFORMATION SYSTEMS SPECIALIST II to be responsible for managing remote software installations on client computers, management and overview of the student help desk, helping with server management and maintenance, planning future deployments of software and systems. Manage the technical aspects of the system/network. Provide user support by troubleshooting PC and Network problems, as well as acts as a liaison with personnel who operate the University Backbone Network . May supervise other technical support personnel, such as Computer Technicians and Information System Specialist I performing routine maintenance, repair, troubleshooting or PC/Network operations duties.

Responsibilities:

1. Applying critical updates to computers; Maintaining file servers (L Drive, SOE Software); Maintaining computer accounts in AD; Managing, tracking and assigning IP Addresses; Managing and updating database information for all SOE inventory.
2. Writing and maintaining code for software installations and updates; working Engineering's Helpdesk tickets.
3. Creating mages to deploy to virtual lag; creating images to deploy to new computer installs; resolving issues for faculty and staff.
4. Perform other duties as assigned

(Annual Salary: $47,665 - $77,455)


Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE.
