SHI has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Administrator on our IT Operations (ITOPS) Servers and Storage team.
The Servers and Storage team is responsible for managing the SHI datacenter, and all servers and storage infrastructure for SHI's internal operations, which includes over 700 servers and over 900TB of storage in multiple datacenters. We are a highly-motivated, team-oriented group consisting of systems administrators, engineers and architects. In this Systems Admin role, you will work closely with other team members for daily administration, monitoring and maintenance, as well as upgrading or adding new systems when needed.
This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Infrastructure Services - ITOPS and is performed from SHI’s Somerset, NJ office location.

Responsibilities
Include, but are not limited to:
  • Configure, monitor and maintain power systems UPS's, Auto-transfer Switches, PDU's, CRACS, & NetBotz devices
  • Provide technical support, problem diagnosis and resolution on UPS, battery and electronic based products in all of our locations
  • Provide remote technical support to branch offices on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment
  • Install, update, manage and maintain software\firmware on UPS systems
  • Assist with the development of workflows and reference documentation
  • Firmware tracking and updates
  • Perform weekly walk thru of data center and IDF rooms
  • Equipment Warranty renewals
  • Perform physical server build and OS configuration to ITOPS standards, rack & stacks, wiring, labeling
  • Install and maintain UPS systems including removal of batteries and remedial services
  • Lifecycle management – good w/ spreadsheets and keeping track of warranties
  • Act as point of contact for IT environmental events, vendor scheduling, and escort requests
  • Procurement ordering of servers and misc part requests
  • Provide technical support, problem diagnosis and resolution on HP Servers and UPS systems
  • Perform One View and HPSIM administration
  • ILO Licensing
  • Participate in NOC monitoring with other members of the team to facilitate requests, and respond to alerts
  • Maintain stock of highly used server parts (hard drives, SFPs, cables, etc.)
  • Perform typical Windows Server administration tasks as required including AD user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, resource monitoring, etc.
Qualifications
  • Understanding of patching Windows servers and patch management
  • Experience with Critical Power equipment
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience supporting IT Systems
  • Experience in UPS and battery technologies

Required Skills
  • Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision or as a contributing member of a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to be flexible and adjust to changing conditions
  • Ability to exercise judgment and initiative in resolving problems and making recommendations
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, AWS, VMware, and Windows Server platforms
  • Excellent organizational, time management, oral, and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
  • Experience with HP EVA, 3PAR, Pure, Cisco UCS storage solutions a plus
  • Bachelor's degree, Associate's degree and/or electronic military background
  • UPS OEM factory training or experience in Liebert / Emerson, APC suites and hardware
  • Working knowledge of SAN storage, zoning, LUN sizing, storage pools, RAID implementations, volume configuration and allocation activities a plus
Certifications Required
  • A+, N+, MCP, MCSA/E, VCP, HP ASE, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner

  • Position requires the ability to move or lift up to 50lbs
  • Extended hours, including nights and weekends, are required to complete some special projects
Additional Information
  • The estimated annual pay range for this position is $60,000 - $90,000. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
