As a Level 3 Systems Administrator at Aptum, your primary responsibility will be to serve as a resident cloud expert on the products provided and supported by Aptum. To achieve this, you will need to have a clear understanding of new cloud initiatives, work with the product development team to develop and maintain cloud-based solutions and be able to troubleshoot or crisis-manage customer issues to resolution. With this knowledge, you will educate teams to deliver effective solutions and ensure the security of the cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the distribution of newly developed software, features and changes to production machines
- Maintain logging systems using various tools (e.g., Elastic, Cloud Logging).
- Maintain monitoring and alerting systems using various tools (e.g., Logic Monitor, DataDog, PagerDuty).
- Serve as liaison and main point of contact for the Product Engineering and
- Produce clear documentation for delivered solutions.
- Exercise judgment using procedures and practices to determine appropriate course of action
- Manage individual project priorities, deliverables, and deadlines.
- Troubleshoot and analyses causes of performance problems
- Orchestrate staging and production deployments.
- Maintain backup and recovery systems using various tools (e.g.,Veeam, Commvault, Cloud Native tools for Backups).
- Conduct analysis and provide expert consultation to customers on their solution and make recommendations for improvement so that it better meets their business requirements
- Setup, configuration & troubleshooting of Linux (LAMP) related technology
- Technical problem diagnosis and resolution
- Development group(s), providing information regarding system performance, product issues / fixes, development ideas and recommendations
- Maintain systems using a wide variety of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Work with customers on tickets, incidents, problems and system changes.
- Be part of the on-call rotation and track time worked on specific customers.
Qualifications:
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Experience and certification on one or more public cloud services beyond basic IaaS functionality such Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud (GCP), VMWare, or other hyperscale cloud environments
- 5+ years of System Administration experience within a production-environment
- Familiarity with Docker containers and orchestration platforms such as ECS, GKE, AKS,
- Exceptional customer service skills and orientation
- Familiarity developing automation with Terraform or other infrastructure provisioning tools
- Ability to diagnose performance issues
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- Experience in automation of code deployment across multiple hyperscale cloud providers
- Kubernetes, Mesos, OpenShift and/or Swarm
- Ability to troubleshoot SQL queries and PHP code
- Able to work with networked/distributed computing environment concepts
