Description

SUMMARY

Responsible for the acquisition, installation, maintenance, and usage of the Washington County Hospital and Clinics (WCHC) local area network (LAN). Manages LAN performance and maintains LAN security. Provides technical consulting, configuration, hardware and software evaluation, selection, adjustments, problem resolution, network designs, planning and installation of network software, and documentation.

Duties/Responsibilities

(include but are not limited to the following)

• Maintain, administer, and document the WCHC LAN.
• Coordinate, develop, and execute programs which monitor and identify deficiencies and irregular operations. Recommend corrective action where needed to assure performance meets WCHCs requirements for continuity of service, system response time, security, reporting and system backup and recovery.
• Responsible for the daily operation of the LAN ensuring all systems are operating at proper levels.
• Evaluate, recommend, design computer hardware and software systems required for operation of LAN and company use.
• Provide hardware and application support to end users. Install new workstations and upgrade equipment and software as needed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• In-depth knowledge of the current Windows OSinstallation and trouble-shooting.
• Working knowledge of HIPAA/HiTech regulations and policies.
• Certification in an Information Technology field is preferred.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Industrial Technology or the equivalent of technical experience.
