Job Description
imre is an independent marketing agency that creates purpose driven ideas that work. We are one of the fastest growing and most exciting agencies working in pharmaceutical marketing today, and we’re looking to add a head of our strategy team to our imre team.

This high-energy leader will be responsible for setting a vision for our differentiated strategic approach in all aspects of our work that is rooted in empathy and design thinking. They will help to break new ground towards understanding patients and HCPs and translate those insights into inspired creative direction and innovative marketing programs.

As the leader of our strategy & insights team, the position requires taking initiative and applying an entrepreneurial spirit as our practice continues to grow. This leader will be a key architect of how we continue to hone our strategic approach, managing a team of dedicated strategists and planning for how to scale and develop that team, over time.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Insights and Data

  • Train distinction of observations vs. insights, translating into strategy on major health brands
  • Mine new methodologies for understanding the experiences of stakeholders and train across the team
  • Utilize command of market research tools and methodologies (Qual and Quant) towards forecasting, disease area and product strategy/messaging creative and brand equity tracking
  • Utilize data to strengthen insight mining, and translate data into narratives

Brand Strategy

  • Ensuring our integrated agency approach and work product is strategy-led
  • Set a vision and further develop our approach to using empathy and emotional insights to understand problems, and unlock innovative solutions across stakeholders, and especially engaging HCPs, caregivers and patients
  • Lead a vision for planning brand strategy in pharmaceutical marketing, communicating our differentiated approach within the context of the larger pharmaceutical landscape, with respect to the experiences of patients and healthcare providers

New Business

  • Growing internal and external demand for brand strategy and insights across our pharma business
  • Directing ongoing client strategy initiatives, while remaining focused on medium and long-term planning and growth opportunities
  • Bring innovative ideas and passionate storytelling to new business pitches

Leadership

  • Troubleshooting and problem solving in collaboration with senior cross functional team leaders around client and team challenges, seeking continued improvement
  • Directing the implementation of strategy, providing strong strategic leadership throughout the work process lifecycle, both internally and externally
  • Mobilizing support for strategy within the agency and in front of clients, fostering confidence and enthusiasm for the strategic direction set forth
  • Operational team leadership, owning strategy & insight team resource and partner management within our healthcare group
  • Mentoring others to understand and enhance the application of strategy & insights in pharma
  • Continuously build the strategy capability and culture of strategic excellence

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Demonstrated passion for healthcare and defining fresh perspectives for the industry
  • A drive to be successful and perform well in all aspects of strategic work in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Experience heading up a strategy practice or large book of business within a healthcare agency that spanned DTC/HCP assignments
  • A proven track record in building brand or disease area architecture
  • A proven track record of new business wins in healthcare
  • A strong command of market research tools and technologies (Qualitative and Quantitative)
  • Experience defining strategic platforms across the lifecycle of brands in healthcare
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field
  • 15+ years of Patient and HCP marketing experience is required, and experience working in a strategic role for oncology a must.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication as well as presentation abilities
  • The ability to engage, inspire and make complex subjects understandable
  • Highly motivated, with strong strategic leadership skills
  • Flexible to work over a number of projects and balance workload

Salary Range: $190,000-280,000/annually
  • Salary dependent upon experience and geographic location
