Supply Chain Development Manager

Proactive Technical Recruitment is looking for a Supply Chain Development Manager focused on the materials handling markets, initially on the Baggage Handling System (BHS).

As the Supply Chain Development Manager, you will make a tangible contribution and impact to the supply chain performance by:

• Managing vendor performance during project execution phases, acting as the main point of contact for the supply chain.
• Coordinating and managing vendor proposals, ensuring consistency with technical and project specifications.
• Conducting in-depth supply chain analysis to identify new/potential supply chain vendors aligned with the needs of Automation and its markets.
• Vetting and approving pre-qualification suppliers to support the onboarding of new vendors/partners to develop a trusted supplier's network.
• Establishing collaborative relationships with the supply chain and other key stakeholders through continuous dialogue and engagement.
• Working with Bid and Project teams to define applicable scopes of work in readiness to transmit to the supply chain for RFQ/RFP requests, including applicable terms and conditions.

The ideal candidate will have experience in various procurement roles with knowledge and experience within the materials handling industry, ideally baggage handling. It is essential that the candidate demonstrates a proactive, entrepreneurial spirit to get the job done.
In addition, the successful candidate should have:

• Awareness of end-to-end procurement projects from market analysis, meet-the-buyer events, pre-qualification, and sourcing, through to contract and supplier management.
• Demonstrable awareness of commercial and financial risks and how to manage them.
• Demonstrable knowledge of applicable SLAs, KPIs, metrics, and other ways to measure supplier performance.
• Previous hands-on experience managing interstate and international supply chains.
• Demonstrable analytical skills, numerically astute with well-developed problem-solving abilities.
• Comfortable with quickly learning and working with new processes and digital/IT systems.
• Supply chain and performance management experience or relevant transferable skills.
• Knowledge and experience of customs clearance procedures.
