Supply Chain Analyst


DEPARTMENT: Operations – Supply Chain


Job Summary


Uses analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict and enhance supply chain processes. Responsible for assembling data, analyzing performance, identifying problems, and developing recommendations which support supply chain management, planning and Operations. Analyze the movement of material through the supply chain network, monitor current process, identify and analyze gaps and develop process improvements. Use skills in database, spreadsheet and data analytics to help the Supply Chain and Operations teams manage inventory turns, productivity, cost and service.


Job Duties And Responsibilities


Key Responsibilities


  • Analyze key planning parameters within SAP MRP.
  • Develops performance reports and distributes to stakeholders.
  • Investigates problems, finds root causes and develops solutions.
  • Gathers and interprets data (cost, productivity, service, demand, performance, etc.).
  • Perform ad-hoc reporting to segment, categorize and analyze ERP/MRP data from SAP.
  • Manages supply chain optimization projects.
  • Seeks to improve all aspects of the Supply Chain and Planning team by reviewing current methods and processes.
  • Maintains a rigorous schedule to provide critical data to the organization for rapid decision making.
  • Key contributor to weekly/monthly performance review meetings.
  • Develops business specifications and coordinates with IT to develop data models and system solutions.
  • Participate in regular planning reviews and change processes and prepare data as required.
  • Maintains departmental training materials.
  • Ensure reliability, integrity and accuracy of data.
  • Provides analytical support for projects, new business, proposals and product launches.


Relationship Management


  • Oversee and collaborate with Buyers and Operations to improve performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with functional leaders, the Supply Chain team and Operations.
  • Integrate with Operations / Plant leadership, provide recommendations, observations and support.
  • Coordinate with operations, engineering, purchasing and quality to attain production goals.
  • Interact with many levels of the organization to provide analytics, root cause and performance data.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop methods for tracking performance, service and other key measures.


SKILL And ATTRIBUTE REQUIRMENTS


  • Project management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to undertake complex analysis to create information from raw data and trends.
  • Ability to develop and analyze complex spreadsheets (MS Excel, etc.).
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and inventory management.
  • Solid math skills.
  • Exceptional ability to conceptualize large projects and foresee challenges that need to be addressed.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Expert understanding of analytical tools, MS Excel, Tableau, SAP Cloud Analytics, Power BI, MiniTab, etc.
  • Good communicator and the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally with Operations and externally with suppliers.
  • Results oriented, and organized to deliver to deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of MRP/ERP systems and master data needed to support planning.
  • Operational and commercial awareness with a full understanding of how failure impacts, production, costs and order fulfilment.

Coordination of part setups, new product launches and part changes including PIRs. Plan for minimization of financial exposure to discontinued materials. Works with suppliers and plants in planning to minimize stock outs, share inventory balances and develop usage information.
  • Supply Chain Competency – must understand supply chain methods which include LEAN, KANBANS, REORDER POINTS, etc.
  • High Energy – maintain high activity levels and responsiveness to stakeholders.
  • Technology Competency – must be fluent in Microsoft Office (Excel), requires a detailed understanding of SAP material planning and purchasing transactions (MRP, etc.).
  • Resilience – maintains effectiveness and positive attitude in the face of disappointment, time demands, priority changes or rejection.
  • Cooperation – works well with others, takes time to help internal suppliers and co-workers achieve their objectives and goals.
  • Adaptability – perform a variety of tasks and being able to change assignment or direction on short notice. Willingness to undergo constant training on new software and analytical tools.


Working Conditions


This position is a technical position and under limited to moderate supervision. It involves extensive data analysis, developing effective internal and external relationships and maintenance of the SAP ERP system. It requires a high degree of self-discipline to be productive, effective and timely in accomplishing tasks. Out of town and overnight travel is occasionally required and will constitute less than 10% of a typical work year including trips to Fabrication division sites and to manufacturing division suppliers.

Compensation And Benefits


  • Bonus target range: 5 -10 %

  • Annual base salary range: $66,000 - $74 ,000
