Supervisor - Water Treatment

The Supervisor - Water Treatment plans, organizes, reviews, directs and supervises staff responsible for the operation and maintenance of the District’s water treatment facilities. They receive and respond to public concerns and questions regarding water quality issues, and direct adjustments to treatment operations as necessary.
The Supervisor - Water Treatment coordinates and sets priorities for operation, maintenance, and laboratory functions. They establish standard operating procedures to provide water of high quality at adequate quantity and pressure.
This position is designated as the District’s Chief Treatment Operator as required by the California State Water Resource Control Board. Performs a variety of tasks related to the assigned area of responsibility.

Any combination of training, education and experience which demonstrates possession of the knowledge and abilities stated above and the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Experience And Education

• Education as required by the State of California Department of Public Health to obtain and retain required certifications.
• Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in the operation of water treatment plants comparable in size and complexity to Solano Irrigation District; including two (2) years providing technical and functional supervision over assigned personnel.

Licenses and Certification

• Possession of a Grade T5 Drinking Water Treatment certificate issued by the State Water Resource Control Board within three (3) years of original appointment. Failure to obtain certification may be grounds for termination.
• Possession of a State Water Resource Control Board Distribution System Operator Grade D2 certificate or higher is desirable.
• Possession of a valid and appropriate California Motor Vehicle Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record to maintain insurability.
• Possession of a Grade T4 Drinking Water Treatment certificate issued by the State Water Resource Control Board- upon appointment.
