Job OverviewThis Is a Union Position.


Prototypes Women's Center is a 180 bed residential facility for women (with or without children). We also offer intensive outpatient services to adult men and women. We provide comprehensive substance use, mental health, and psychiatric care by an interdisciplinary team of professionals. Treatment episodes range in time from 60 days to 6 months. Prototypes is a fast-paced environment that strives to provide optimal client care and promote self-sufficiency while ensuring safety and shelter for those in need.


We are looking for a candidate who is dependable, empathic, and efficient to work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide appropriate care and treatment for our clients; someone who demonstrates strong, professional boundaries and someone who is able to facilitate a safe environment for our clients. The position requires the candidate to be abe to provide trauma-informed treatment, crisis intervention and management; display a strong understanding of clients with co-occurring disorders and must be flexible/adaptable to change.


Key Responsibilities


  • Seeks clinical consultation and supervision when encountering new and/or high risk clinical circumstance.
  • Maintains compliance with due dates for all clinical documentation.
  • Works collaboratively with other members of the treatment team including the Case Manager, Clinical Therapist, Medical, and Psychiatrist.
  • Is familiar with group Evidence Based Practices and is able to deliver sessions with fidelity.
  • Write and complete all progress notes within 72 hours of service delivery.
  • Meets expected client care hours (productivity expectation is 25 client care hours per week).
  • Facilitates patient education and group counseling sessions as assigned by the agency.
  • Facilitates groups in residential, outpatient, or field depending on assignment and agency need.
  • Utilizes trauma informed care while applying motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and evidence-based practices.
  • Provides the clients with orientation to group treatment culture and norms.
  • Completes client UA tests and documents results.
  • Assists with client program oversight by ensuring groups start and finish on time and that clients maintain compliance with group attendance and expectations.
  • Carefully tracks client progress in group to facilitate accurate documentation of clinical services.
  • Follows the group manual and engages in session preparation when needed.
Education and Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesBackground Clearance Required:


  • Must not be on parole or probation for a minimum of two years.
  • CDCR fingerprint clearance.


Knowledge Required


  • Knowledge issues of related to substance abuse, mental health, and criminal background.
  • Culturally competent and able to work with a diverse population.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word Outlook and internet applications.


In compliance with the California Department of Public Health's mandate, all employees must be able to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Medical and religious exemptions are available.
