Job Purpose: The Graduate Enrollment Management (GEM) Student Services Specialist is responsible for overseeing the registration, customer service, ongoing communication plans and solving graduate student concerns. In addition, this role collaborates with faculty, advisors, and staff from the programs GEM serves to coordinate the support and retention of graduate students. Frequent interaction with University colleagues is required to be the liaison and advocate of our students to ensure exceptional service is provided and thus positively impacting graduation and retention rates. The Student Services Specialist contributes to the institutional goal of overall degree completion by ensuring that all students feel a part of the Gonzaga community from the time of matriculation through graduation. Minimum Qualifications:
  • Planning and organizational skills, including the ability to maintain records and files.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize work.
  • Familiarity with the needs of graduate students.?
  • Ability to work in an environment that requires self-direction and motivation.
  • Experience in admissions, sales, marketing, public relations, program enrollment or a related area with preference given to sales experience. Experience can include internships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a high level of customer service.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in higher education preferred.
  • Bilingual
  • Program enrollment, advising, or admissions experience with demonstrated successful results, particularly in the areas of managing registration, retention, advising and student concerns.
