Strategic Planning & Analytics Intern

Marvel Publishing is seeking an enthusiastic Strategic Planning & Analytics Intern to join our team. This position will report into our Manager, Publishing Finance & Operations but will have the opportunity to support leads across our Sales, Metadata Management, and Operations divisions.

Ideal candidates will possess an interest in data-driven analysis and a curiosity to discover the story behind numbers and trends. Someone who is eager to learn and able to quickly pivot between projects will do well in this role.

Responsibilities and Potential Projects include:

• Prepare COGS summaries (forecast v. actual) and call attention to emerging trends
• Work alongside Planning team to analyze sales and inventory movement
• Title and Contributor (Artist/Writer) metadata optimization Projects
• Support key components of Marvel’s weekly print run process
• Compile and present regular Industry trend reports to upper management

Qualifications:

• Efficient problem-solver with data analysis experience
• Ability to pivot between projects and meet deadlines
• Well-organized with strong attention to detail
• Interest in and knowledge of Marvel Comics/IP preferred but not required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Cover letter must include a personal introduction, and days/times available during internship period.
• Resume must outline other internships, degrees earned, work experience, related clubs and organizations, current major course of study, expected graduation date and extracurricular activities.
• Preferred Junior or Senior-level standing

Required Education

• Junior, Senior Undergraduate Program student status by arrival date is preferred
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program by arrival date

Additional Information:

Internship Eligibility:

• Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization
• Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session.

Program Dates:

• All students must provide a consistent, reliable work schedule during the session
• All candidates must be available to work a minimum of 21-29 hours per week during a Monday through Friday schedule during business hours (hours and days to be determined by your supervisor)
• All candidates must be available from July 2023 through December 2023
