About The Role

This is a varied and unpredictable role, which requires being comfortable with uncertainty and constantly re-assessing how to support the needs of our diverse projects. If you like to know exactly what you’ll be working on tomorrow or next quarter, it’s probably not for you. But if you enjoy entrepreneurial problem-solving, if you like working in markets that have yet to be invented, as well as rolling up your sleeves on implementation, if you thrive on creative chaos and can gently introduce a bit of rigor (but not too much to kill the spirit of innovation) - then this might just be the role for you.

In this role, you will lead strategic finance for the entire early stage pipeline at X, working with portfolio managers and project leaders developing new business and technologies across a variety of industries. You will work directly with the Pipeline leadership to drive capital allocation for the portfolio and to partner with the projects on developing business models, managing their P&L and helping them think through commercialization. This is a varied and unpredictable role, requiring you to be comfortable with uncertainty and constantly re-assessing how to support the needs of our diverse projects.

How You Will Make 10x Impact

• Work with project leads in the pipeline to model business scenarios, track performance metrics, and identify levers and risks to support strategic financial decisions
• Help project teams develop their go-to-market strategies by partnering closely with product, legal and business development teams as projects create and close their first commercial agreements
• Partner with Portfolio leads on resourcing decision for the entire X pipeline to invest proportional to the progress made and potential return

What You Should Have

• BA/BS degree in finance, economics, business, or technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 6+ years experience in financial modeling, data analytics, finance, startup finance, venture capital, or similar relevant environment
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with proven ability to influence across the company
• Ability to build business models from the ground up, and to extract insights from data and present it to a senior audience effectively
• Experience working with financial data and reporting, including proficiency in SQL
• Thrive on ambiguity, setting own goals and effectively delivering to them in a very fast-changing environment

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $128,000 - $199,000 bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
