Job Overview:

Analyze account drivers and data to create budget strategies/recommendations based on statistical interpretation. Provide leadership at both the strategic and operation levels to enhance financial planning, expense control and process improvement. Grow the business while developing a strong partnership with business partners.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

• Work collaboratively with Staffing, Corporate Accounting, Corporate Purchasing and Store Operations business partners to maximize results.
• Leverages multiple systems and applications to extract data including Anaplan, PowerBI, Oracle, OneStream, and General Ledger.
• Uses problem solving skills and performs ad-hoc data analysis to resolve issues in a timely-manner.
• Participate in store visits.
• Works across multiple company prioritized initiatives including our off-mall strategy, Market by Macys, & Backstage.
• Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality.
• Will be encouraged to bring in new ideas and perspective to challenge the status quo
• Responsible for financial management with an emphasis on understanding drivers and trends in the business to provide meaningful insight for forecasting and planning.
• Provide analytical support to business partners. Will be expected to understand the business and anticipate challenges around the corner to foresee potential opportunities and risks.

Qualifications and Competencies:

• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read, write and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in General Ledger and Expense Reporting systems, and Excel. Ability to effectively plan and execute strategies
• 2+ years of relevant work experience
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store/company needs.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and consistently meet deadlines. Demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to think through all facets of an issue and generate a solution.
• Bachelor’s Degree required, degree in Finance or Economics preferred. Experienced with financial analysis and expense control.
• This position involves extended periods of sitting and the extensive use of computer and the office equipment. May involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Involves close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Must have above average mathematical skills, including the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
• Self-starter that can quickly assess situations with logic, reasoning, and critical thinking skills.
