Job Purpose:

Tom’s Guide wants to provide our readers with the very best guidance, ideas and advice when it comes to buying fitness equipment. From exercise bikes to apps, from sleep trackers to workout routines, we aim to offer not just the best insight when looking for a new piece of gear, but also help our readers get the most out of their purchase with tips, tricks, and advice.

• This is a position covered under a collective bargaining agreement between Future US, Inc. and the Writers Guild of America East. **

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure content is published and marketed effectively through the use of push notifications and social media
• Write high quality articles on product-based/buying topics
• Write associated content such as analysis, opinion and interviews
• Organize and carry out effective, objective reviews of products.
• Break news where relevant
• Work with the Fitness Editor to set priorities and story ideas
• Attend key industry events
• Monitor rankings performance of key terms in the sector and ensure our content ranks well
• Create and regularly update content, especially over key commercial events such as Black Friday, Memorial Day sales
• Establish strong industry contacts with leading companies to ensure we receive news and products for review.

What do I need to succeed?

• A ruthless approach to success - you’ll be able to combine coming up with transformative ideas with a determined approach to ensure they are delivered
• A keen interest and understanding of fitness products. We don’t expect you to be an expert initially, but you’ll grasp the challenge of becoming one very quickly.
• An interest in and understanding of analytical and SEO tools.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills - from the ability to write snappy headlines to tight grammar control, through to the ability to choose just the right image to attract readers.
• Self-motivation. The team is split across several offices and continents, so you’ll need to be able to work independently and be willing to attend meetings at other offices as required
• Ability to deliver content quickly and efficiently.
