Job Title: Staff Information Systems Engineer

Location: Kirkland, WA Remote

:

  • As a Staff System Engineer on the Systems Engineering team, you will be responding to and resolving vulnerabilities on containers and virtual machines while automating and streamlining process to improve the overall program. You will also be driving our STIG program and hardening systems to spec.
  • Staff System Engineer will be an integral part of the System Engineering team and closely partner with the Compliance and Security teams.
  • This position will mainly participate in vulnerability troubleshooting, including reviewing scan results, risk analysis and calculations to identify true risk within the environment and influence and drive remediation.
  • The role will require a technical understanding of Linux infrastructure and container and VM best practices to improve security.

  • Write knowledge articles as needed
  • Partner with stakeholders to drive down vulnerabilities and develop mitigationstrategiesacross the organization.
  • Submit exceptions or extensions and remediate vulns, looking for root cause and process improvements
  • Partner with teams to plan and execute software code upgrades as needed.
  • Coordinate the analysis of STIGS and be hand on to remediate inregulated environments.
  • Assist with defining hardening policies that will improve our security posture

What you will need to be successful in this role:

  • Solid understanding of Linux
  • Familiarity with programming language components for java and python
  • Solid understanding of and have experience with most of the following infrastructure services.
  • Ability to script and analyze large data sets
  • Foundation as well as experience with
  • Hands-on experience with vulnerability management tools and strong technical understanding and experience assessing vulnerabilities and identifying weaknesses in cloud infrastructure services.
  • Containers and/or VMs
  • Solid infrastructure support
  • Kubernetes or docker, Puppet, Ansible, Imaging, Artifactory, Git
  • Ability to partner with peers who are globally distributed is a key part of this role.
