ECHO is hiring a degreed Staff Accountant for a newly created highly visible role in Accounts Payable! This role is the entry way into a successful well-rouded accounting career! This position is geared to develop 1-3 year accountants as they become more familiarized with payments, invoices, expenses, general ledger postings, month end close, year end close, and audit processes. Duties/Responsibilities:

• Interact with other departments to ensure quality service as well as with supplier base to maintain quality vendor relationships.
• Resolve payment problems originating from the purchasing function, plant receiving, or supplier billing.
• Develop vendor relations to support process improvement and automation.
• Review and confirm vendor balances for month end accruals.
• Review and reconcile expense reports.
• Perform day to day AP functions; reviewing and processing of invoices, issuing of checks, maintenance of accounts payable reports.
• Assist in audits by gathering, compiling, and submitting necessary documentation.

Job Experience/Skills:

• Ability to multi-task.
• Minimum of 1-3 years working with invoices in an accounting, purchasing, supply chain or related role.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency especially in Excel.
• AS400 is a plus.
• Experience using Adobe PDF.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field is required.
