Staff Accountant Jobs

Sinclair Broadcast Group is seeking a Staff Accountant in Hunt Valley, MD to provide accounting services for our Corporate entities, television stations, sports networks and other businesses.
Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Complete the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries for corporate, broadcast, and other affiliated entities.
• Assist the Corporate Accounting Supervisor with various other month-end/quarter-end close responsibilities, including but not limited to invoice coding, intercompany reclasses, accounting for company-wide supplier cards, cash receipts, tax payments, and preparation of various schedules and reports requested by management.
• Assist in gathering appropriate work papers and documentation for both internal and external auditor requests and provide in a timely manner.
• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations utilizing Blackline, our cloud-based automated reconciliation software.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
• Establish strong working relationships and maintain effective communication with both corporate and station department personnel, particularly Accounting, Broadcast Shared Services, Treasury, Credit, the local and regional business offices, Accounts Payable and Purchasing.
• Complete ad-hoc projects to support the Corporate Accounting team as necessary.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance 1+ years of accounting experience (experience in a Corporate setting or public accounting is ideal) Working knowledge of the general ledger, financial statements, account reconciliations, and internal controls Experience managing and organizing large quantities of data Strong aptitude for accuracy and attention to detail Excellent organizational skills Ability to operate in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment Desire and ability to work in a team environment and communicate well with others Advanced Excel skills required
