Staff Accountant Jobs

Successful and fast growing healthcare product company has an immediate need to fill a new growth related Staff Accountant position on their Corporate Accounting team located in Sandy Springs, GA close to Northridge and GA 400. We are looking for a special person to join our fun driven accounting team in this creative business environment that truly cares about employee satisfaction.

As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for providing professional accounting support to a variety of financial functions, including assisting with monthly financial statement reporting and analysis, cost accounting, budgeting and variance analysis, and tax compliance. You will ensure that our accounting, audit and reporting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles.

The Staff Accountant reports to the Assistant Controller and will help provide leadership and coordination to the company's accounting function. This role will also be involved in process improvement activities geared toward creating more efficient, effective, and repeatable processes that drive timely and accurate financial reporting. You will play a large part on a small team and will have frequent interaction with all levels of the accounting and finance team.

Responsibilities

• Work on ad hoc projects and/or report deliverables as business needs dictate.
• Assist with responsibilities including supporting the team with cross training, training, and development, as well as serve as backup in their absence.
• Maintain an attitude of flexibility that allows performance above and beyond the parameters of this position description exhibiting a team player attitude.
• Provide high levels of customer service to cross functional departments.
• Assist with the bid and related compliance process for school related regulatory authorities.
• Accounts for and reconciles all banking activity including both daily activity and periodic bank statements.
• Review and Approve Amazon purchases to ensure within company guidelines.
• Responsible for sales tax and personal property tax filing and compliance.
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations accurately completed by the deadline with all unusual items properly followed up on and completely examined.
• Properly and timely prepare closing entries for accounting close each period.
• Book and account for revenue.
• Fixed Asset Accounting.

Staff Accountant Qualifications

• Ability to shift priorities while meeting a constant stream of deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Intermediate excel skills: sumifs, countifs, lookups, pivot tables experience preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience.
• Highly detail-oriented and organized.
• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $68,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
