POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT


Moss' Staff Accountant – Inventory will be responsible for supporting the accounting and inventory procurement departments with timely processing of hourly and salaried payroll, accounts payable, inventory transactions, and credit card transactions processing. The ideal candidate would have relevant accounting experience. Construction industry experience is a strong plus.


Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities


  • Manage and maintain the collection of waivers, POs, documentation to support the inventory balances
  • Ensure credit card charges are in adherence with company policy and submitted within deadlines.
  • Assist with preparation of journal entries to transfer the cost of inventory items monthly.
  • Liaison with Payroll Department to address and research any errors or changes to weekly and bi-weekly payroll.
  • Setup new vendors with AP
  • Process and cost code accounts payable and purchase order invoices for multiple projects.
  • Process expense reports for project and field personnel promptly.
  • Reconcile monthly statements for major vendors working closely with the electrical team to ensure all invoices are processed in a timely manner.
  • Collect, manage, and code credit card receipts via CORPAY for project and field personnel.
  • Maintain Inventory system database, add new jobs, vendors, etc.
  • Collect timesheets from team employees and verify accuracy.
  • Process salary payroll on a bi-weekly basis and hourly payroll on a weekly basis for department interns.
  • Post purchase orders (commitments) and follow up process.
  • Support Inventory Accounting and Procurement team as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Education And Work Experience


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is a must
  • Collaborates well with others
  • Understanding the full accounting cycle
  • Excellent analytical and computer skills
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt and multi-task
  • Provides excellent customer service by responding promptly to field operations and vendor requests
  • Exhibits good written communication skills including reading, interpreting, writing, and listening
  • Displays accuracy and thoroughness in the quality of work

  • Experience with accounting systems
  • Always maintain professional ethics
  • 1-3 years experience in accounting or inventory management role
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Organized and able to prioritize important tasks
