Prime Gaming, an Amazon Prime benefit for anyone who enjoys playing or watching games, is looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to help us raise the bar for how we collaborate and deliver across our portfolio of products. We are quickly evolving to be more agile and nimble while balancing out the need for standards and unification to scale. You will help lead the portfolio of programs constituting our product roadmap, ensuring the right initiatives are delivered in a consistent, quality, and timely manner.


In this role, you will be responsible for 1) Defining and rolling out product development intake, planning and tracking mechanisms and 2) oversight and coordination of highly complex cross-functional programs. You will leverage your deep understanding of product and tech processes to define new standards for how we plan, sequence, size, and track our work. This will help create improved visibility and inspection so that we can maximize our delivery velocity and confidence. You will leverage your program management skills as well as technical knowledge and business acumen to simplify and orchestrate delivery of highly impactful programs and features. You will collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to negotiate trade-offs, balance technical and customer facing needs, and deliver crisp and clear communication to ensure alignment or escalation as needed.

Key job responsibilities


  • Continually deliver and inspect standardized, scalable, automated, solutions to ensure the team is delivering the right projects, at the right time, with the right resources
  • Help drive the creation of a sequenced, integrated portfolio roadmap of program initiatives and features
  • Ensure transparency, alignment and regular communication of strategic programs across the portfolio to key business and technology stakeholders, and lead prioritization discussions on required adjustments
  • Lead goal alignment and tracking with portfolio stakeholders
  • Own oversight, coordination, and success of high-priority cross-functional programs
  • Develop deep knowledge of our suite of tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.) to deliver clear program progress and up to date tracking
  • Define, align on, and launch new end-to-end product development processes from ideation to post-launch analysis including cross-team program planning, intake, roadmap reviews, velocity tracking, etc
  • Analyze data and report key business and operational trends
  • This role may require 10% travel for onsite and offsite meetings. This role is based in Seattle, WA. Candidates must either reside in the greater metro Seattle area or be willing to relocate to the Seattle area.

Basic Qualifications


  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Highly analytical and process-driven, can assist with strategic planning, drive decisions forward, execute on high-impact projects, and lead through influence.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methods e.g. Six Sigma, Lean, Total Quality Management
  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • Experience with modern, scalable delivery models for technology including Agile, SAFe, etc.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • Ability to determine when and how to leverage or adapt proven frameworks for the situation
  • Experience in workflow management tools e.g. JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet, etc. and familiarity with Business Intelligence suites
  • Excellent written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills; proven ability to get results across multiple groups and disciplines
  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • Experience with end to end tech programs delivery, from planning to execution and achieving outcomes, including cross functional stakeholder management


Preferred Qualifications


  • MBA, CFA or Master's Degree in engineering and/or business
  • Experience working on a subscription or membership, games or entertainment media industry experience is a plus

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
