Position Summary


The Sr. Manager, Voice of Customer is responsible for leading a key portion of our category management and customer-facing supply chain (Voice of Customer / VOC) team. This position is responsible for leveraging our category management and supply chain influencing efforts at key retailers and developing and improving CPFR skills and capabilities through training, coaching, and mentoring of direct reports. This position is also responsible for understanding and helping the team develop data-driven insights on sell-in and sell-through, from strategic business planning with merchant to influencing replenishment and improving forecast accuracy with customer replenishment teams. Finally, the colleague in this role will leverage understanding of the market, category trends, competitive trends and activities, POS data, and inventory data to assist the company, customer teams, and retail partners to develop and execute strategies for category and POS growth at the retailer.


Responsibilities


  • Set expectations and establish priorities for the team, including performance objectives and development needs
  • Own customer category line review process and develop/deliver ad hoc presentations
  • May perform additional duties as assigned
  • Gain alignment, support and additional resources needed by team to be effective
  • Responsible for reporting, commentary, market landscape reviews (among others), and maintaining a constant and firm grip on happenings within the applicable categories
  • Act as key contact with customer’s Replenishment & Supply Chain Teams, for all store, DC, and ecommerce replenishment issues, strategies, and initiatives.
  • Act as the category leader with customer to help develop category strategy based on insights and market trends
  • Lead and develop Voice of Customer team; allocate, focus, and manage team resources
  • Oversee Energizer inventory and service level/in-stock position to ensure smooth flow of merchandise into and out of DCs, stores, and online.
  • Provide internal consultation to key stakeholders on category management and CPFR
  • Analyze large quantities of data to help the Supply Chain Team, Demand Planners, and Sales Team make decisions that drive value and identify inventory issues both internally and at the customer.
  • Drive operational efficiencies to reduce overall supply cost and improve performance
  • Lead category assessment, analysis, & insight generation. Own customer category management & analytics, leveraging syndicated and customer POS systems.
  • Inform company leadership of industry, market, and retailer developments while maintaining customer confidentiality in accordance with customer expectations.
  • Develop, improve, and share best practices for Category Management & CPFR within the company and across the team
  • Conducts category competitive analysis that identifies competitor strategies, strengths and weaknesses
  • Sponsor or lead development of new processes, tools, or programs that will improve company or category management team
  • Drive sales and profit through innovative replenishment approaches, industry knowledge, and technical expertise to ensure store level and DC level inventories are in line with the company’s objectives.
  • Collaborate with customer replenishment teams to drive corporate replenishment strategies and ensure all key replenishment metrics are met. Proactively identify opportunities to optimize metrics and POS.
  • Serve as strategic partner available to consult with customer teams and internal leadership on development of specific strategies, programs, and priorities necessary to drive business results


What We Are Looking For


  • 5-7 years of category management experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, decision making capability, and proven track record of success
  • Ability to work in changing environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills including presenting, influencing, and building relationships
  • Analytical skills/abilities to analyze data from various systems to get to opportunity/root cause
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience with JDA, Nielsen/IRI
  • 2-3 years customer or sales experience preferred
  • Experience with customer POS system
  • 3-5 years of customer-facing experience
  • Proven ability to manage a team
  • Leadership of sales or category team within CPG industry at traditional retailers preferred but not required
  • MBA preferred but not required
  • 5-7 years of experience within Product Supply, Supply Chain (either/or transportation, DC operations, OTC or operational planning) or Customer Supply Management preferred
