Why Escalent? Once you join our team you will have the opportunity to...
  • Gain exposure to a rich variety of research techniques from knowledgeable professionals.
  • Obtain insights into the needs and challenges of your clients—to learn how the world’s leading brands use research.

  • Access experts across industries for maximum learning opportunities including Weekly Knowledge Sharing Sessions, LinkedIn Learning, and more.
  • Enjoy a remote first/hybrid work environment with a flexible schedule.
  • Build lasting relationships with fun colleagues in a culture that values each person.
Role Overview
Our Life Science practice excels at evaluating new pharmaceutical and biotech products; analyzing the best opportunities for penetrating marketplaces; and helping health systems understand how their customers are responding to healthcare reform. We leverage quantitative and qualitative research solutions to address a variety of healthcare market research needs. Recently, the demand for qualitative solutions among Life Sciences clients has been steadily increasing.
Who are you?
  • You are comfortable with discomfort, knowing that each engagement in Life Sciences often has a high learning curve. You are not intimidated by the challenge of learning about new therapeutic areas on each project and crave the intellectual stimulation this learning rewards.
  • You’re experienced in understanding client business challenges, designing qualitative solutions and methodologies to address them, and serving as a liaison between internal research teams and clients, ultimately bringing research findings to light.
  • You’re a market researcher who’s comfortable with the nuances of qualitative research involving medical or sensitive topics.
  • You are curious, staying current with emerging trends in qualitative research, strategies for communicating insights and/or following develops in various therapeutic areas.
  • You bring a growth mindset with eagerness to tackle new challenges.
  • Experience moderating focus groups, individual interviews (IDIs) and online bulletin boards is beneficial, but not a requirement.
  • You enjoy synthesizing findings, creating storytelling deliverables in PowerPoint and presenting results.
  • You are seeking to lead engagements, partnering with our Client Relationship Managers and Qualitative Analysts to create proposals, oversee projects and write final reports.
What would you do?
A Senior Manager, Qualitative Insights works with a Client Manager (sales/client relationship owner) and a Project Manager (logistics) to support qualitative projects within the Life Sciences team. They are in charge of all phases of qualitative research projects from design to execution, to reporting and final delivery of insights. A majority of our qualitative engagements focus on disease state understanding, segmentation and persona development, patient and Healthcare Professional (HCP) journey, treatment pathways, core HCP messaging and patient positioning. The preferred candidate has experience in one or more of these areas specifically with Life Sciences (e.g., pharma) clients. Experience and skill in oncology or diabetes / metabolic disorders is a plus, but not required. Candidates with deep qualitative research expertise, but without Life Sciences experience have been successful in this role. However, they have had to make additional investment to quickly learn the fundamentals of Life Sciences while leaning heavily on their deep qualitative background.
A few other key points…
  • We are a geographically dispersed organization with technical proficiency, so we are very flexible regarding your location, and comfortable with you working remotely. You must be able and willing to travel as needed (domestically, and on rare occasions, internationally) for research fieldwork and client meetings. Estimated travel is ~30%.
  • We all deeply enjoy the incredible colleagues that we get to work with on a daily basis. That’s paramount for every one of us, so we focus very strongly on hiring people that will fit in well with our culture. While we are looking for somebody with a strong individual skills and experience, your ability to collaborate is going to be a big deciding factor.

  • Partner with moderators in insight development during and after fielding
  • Independently learn new therapeutic areas and confidently converse in patient and HCP vernacular
  • Organize and oversee fast-moving global projects with lots of moving parts
  • Contribute to thought leadership, point-of-view pieces and our award-winning blog (escalent.co/thinking/blog)
  • Lead and collaborate with other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) during the research design process, including project specifications, pricing, creation of screener and discussion guides, research methodology, and analysis planning
  • Deepen client relationships by effectively managing their expectations, communicating project updates and guiding decision-making
  • Author and deliver compelling storytelling narratives, interactive workshops, video documentaries and more to embed insight and guidance into clients’ hearts and minds
