Job Title: SR Manager of System Operations Control (SOC) (Nights)
Location: Orlando Florida

Reports To: SR Director of SOC
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary: Participates in the company's Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with the responsibilities detailed in the Safety Management System Manual. Direct supervision, guidance, and oversight of the Duty Managers, Dispatcher Manager, and Operation Analyst Supervisor. Responsible for ensuring all in the System Operations Control are trained, checked/tested, and qualified in accordance with National Airlines approved/accepted, as applicable, manuals. Responsible, in conjunction with the Director of Flight Standards and Training, for the preparation, currency, and maintenance of the System Operations Control Training Program.
· Responsible for monitoring the day-to-day operations in the SOC and ensuring there are sufficient facilities for releasing and monitoring all flights.
· The SR Manager of System Operations Control will act proactively to ensure all SOC personnel have sufficient tools and facilities to perform their job functions with the highest degree of safety.
· The SR Manager of System Operations Control will notify the Director of Operations any time it appears sufficient facilities for releasing and monitoring all flights may not be available.
· Under the guidance and approval of the SR Director of SOC, the SR Manager is responsible for, and has authority to approve the hiring and scheduling to ensure proper planning and staffing of all SOC employees. This role is also responsible for the development of the different SOC roles and all others under his/her supervision to provide required skills and competencies necessary for an efficient and effective SOC unit.
· Responsible for coordinating with the Director of Operations, Chief Pilot, Director of Quality Control and Director of Maintenance on the daily activities and upcoming schedules to ensure there are no conflicts and/or situations that could affect the safety of the flight.
· Responsible for planning and implementing IROP (irregular operations) initiatives such as major cancellations or delays.
· Notify and respond to management/senior management questions on a real-time basis regarding operational problems such as accidents, major incidents, and/or newsworthy events.

Qualifications
· Must have a working knowledge of all applicable regulatory requirements
· Previous experience in performing the duties and responsibilities defined within job description
· Prefer at least ten years working experience in an airline Operations Control/Flight Dispatch/Flight Following office or center
· Must have at least 5 years working experience in Flight Operations
· Must have at least 5 years previous supervisory experience
· Aircraft Dispatcher’s License is required
· College degree preferred, preferably in Airline Operations / Flight Dispatch
· Must have worked in a Flight Dispatch/Following office as a Flight Follower or Dispatcher for at least 5 years
· Understanding of schedules and fleet operations
· Computer literate
· Ability to respond quickly to changes
· Able to work nights and weekend shifts
· Must be so designated by the Director of Operations (DO)
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Physical Demands
· Strong attention to detail
· Extended periods of time sitting at a workstation, using keyboard, mouse, multiple
· computer screens while communicating by telephone, email or in person
· Ability to work nights, weekends and irregular hours required (Flexible schedules) to
· support the 24/7 Operations
· Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced team environment while maintaining
· accuracy and efficiency
· Ability to interact, communicate and maintain relationships with diverse internal and
· external customers
· Effective written and verbal communication skills
· Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Applications (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
· Able to work in a team environment
Physical Effort:
· Will be sitting for extended periods at a time
· Must be able to carry 15lbs
Travel/Other Requirements:
